About Who I Teach My Approach Lessons Get in touch

Piano lessons in Fife

There's a musician
inside you
just waiting...

Someone who perhaps played music years ago and lost interest — or has always wondered what it might be like. Someone who suspects there's a musician inside them, waiting for the right moment, the right approach, the right encouragement.

That moment might be now.

Music is more
than lessons.

It's about what happens when you sit down with an instrument and something clicks. When a piece of music you've always loved starts to make sense from the inside. When you stop just being a listener and become a player — or when you become a better listener because you've started to play.

At Sairfeet Music, lessons are where we start. But the real aim is something bigger than that.

01

Play

Learn the music you want to play. Develop your skills to play it well. Explore your musical capabilities.

02

Listen

Develop your musical ear. Understand how music works. Hear and appreciate music from a different perspective.

03

Discover

Nurture and develop the musician inside of you — through playing, listening and understanding music in a new way.

Anyone who feels
the pull of music.

Adult Returners

You played once and want to come back — on your terms this time. No pressure, no deadlines, just music.

Complete Beginners

You've always wanted to learn. Adults bring enthusiasm, motivation and passion to music. That counts for a great deal.

Younger Learners

Younger students are warmly welcome too. Get in touch for a conversation about how we can help develop your child's musical talents.

Jim McLaren

A farmer, a pianist, and a piano accordion player based in Fife. Jim came back to music himself as an adult — and that experience shapes everything about the way he teaches.

His approach is exploratory and personal, built around musical understanding rather than just technical progress. Whoever you are and whatever you want from music, lessons are built around you.

"If you make friends with whichever note you happened to land on, it will give you directions to where you are trying to go."
— Victor Wooten, bass guitarist
